NORCROSS, Ga. — If hip hop heads didn’t know that Trinidad James had arrived when his thick island twang poured over the booming bass beats on the hood anthem “All Gold Everything,” then they began to take notes when rolling out hosted a pre-awards party for the ATL rapper off Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills., Calif., on the eve of the 2013 Grammy Awards in February.
While James didn’t need to be authenticated or certified that he is posted up strong in this rap game, the fact that the hypnotic single went gold makes Trinidad’s star claim irrefutable and non-debatable.
And he celebrated in style. Inviting fans, friends and family members to the TreeSound Studio in suburban Atlanta for some good eats and to wash it down with Dussee cognac, Heineken or Red Bull.
Def Jam VP James “Groove” Chambers bestowed Trinidad bestowed a “gold” certification plaque, signifying that talented tongue wizard with the idiosyncratic fashion sense had sold over 500,000 of the hit single. Other celeb guest and distinguished faces in the crowd included Lou Williams of the Atlanta Hawks, rap artist DJ Infamous, Noni Nicolas of BET, Def Jam Label Execs and rapper Jamal Woolard, Quick Time Studios Productions and Emmanuel Lewis.
Renowned chef Mali Hunter and chef Clarence Ridgely prepared the delectable cuisine. Big-time baker Tracey “TRae” Wright prepared a jaw-droppingly beautiful set of cakes for the rap boss.
