Kanye West spotted filming a cameo in upcoming ‘Anchorman’ sequel

MTV TRL With Will Ferrell

Hip-hop superstar Kanye West has been known to have a comedic side. The mercurial rapper has featured Chris Rock on his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album and comedian DeRay Davis provided his best Bernie Mac impersonation for the intros on West’s College Dropout and Late Registration albums. Now, it looks Yeezy is teaming up with Will Ferrell in the highly-anticipated comedy sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

Hollywood.com reports that West was photographed filming a scene this week on the rooftop of a building in downtown Atlanta. The film has already landed some impressive cameos from superstars like Jim Carrey and Liam Neeson, and it looks like West has been added to the list. According to reports, he was shooting what appeared to be a fight scene with stars Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate.

The original Anchorman, released in 2004, was a tremendous success and the protagonist, pompous news anchor Ron Burgundy proved to be one of Ferrell’s most beloved characters. Incidentally, Kanye and Jay-Z famously used a snippet from Ferrell’s hit 2006 comedy Blades of Glory on their Grammy-winning hit “N—as In Paris” from 2011s Watch the Throne album.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is set to be released on December 20th.
