It’s official! Christina Aguilera will be back in her red chair for season 5 of “The Voice.”
She will replace Shakira who after one season decided that she needs to focus on motherhood and her career.
“I’m not going to be able to do next season because I have to get back to my motherhood and also get back to the studio, the recording studio. I want to finish my album, the one that I started working on before I delivered my baby and before I took this gig with The Voice,” she said of her decision to leave the show after just one season. “So yeah, I have to take a little break. But you never know, I might come back!”
Aguilera’s previous salary per season was $10 million, she will return with a $12 million salary. Rumors are also swirlng that Cee-Lo Green will also be back for season 5.
Fans are really loving the chemistry with Shakira and Usher on the show and the ratings increased drastically. What do you think of the duo returning? Will it hurt the ratings for season 5?
