15 greatest Southern hip-hop albums of all time

4. UGK Ridin’ Dirty

UGK’s Ridin’ Dirty was the quintessential Southern rap album. Bun B and Pimp C never attempted to create a cross over single that would likely get more radio spins. Instead, Ridin’ Dirty was an unfiltered soundtrack of life on the streets of Southeast Texas. Produced mostly by Pimp C and N.O. Joe, standout songs include “Diamonds & Wood,” “One Day,” “Murder,” and “Ridin’ Dirty.” The album even inspired Jay-Z who later recruited UGK for his hit “Big Pimpin.'”
