Oprah Winfrey’s network, OWN, premiered the documentary “Dark Girls” on June 23. Produced by Bill Duke, the film takes a look at how skin complexion plays a major role in the self-esteem of many black girls.
It also reveals how racism and the dominance of one race over others continues to affect millions. Dark Girls is a powerful film that will, hopefully, start an honest conversation and provoke change.
