BET’s CEO Debra Lee hosts celebrity pre-awards dinner sponsored by Cadillac
The seventh annual BET pre-awards dinner hosted by the network’s CEO Debra Lee highlighted and showcased their accomplishments. Lee presented the lineup from “The Game,” discussed their new hourlong drama with Richard Roundtree; thanked their sponsor, Cadillac; and P&G (CoverGirl and My Black is Beautiful).
During the Excellence Awards, Cadillac’s vice president of global strategy, Don Butler, praised BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner Charlie Wilson, and highlighted the value of sponsoring a significant awards event and its star-studded pre-awards dinner.
BET Awards 2013 host Chris Tucker, Wayne Brady, NeNe Leakes and many more were spotted.
The pre-awards dinner is a true testament to the camaraderie found in L.A. — the support for the growth of African American entertainers, music creators and tastemakers. The dinner provided an opportunity for networking and a celebration of African American progression within the entertainment industry. During the night, Lee pointed out that BET was not just entertainment, but included sports, business, health, and education programming, all of which have a great impact on the community.
Hats off to BET and the entire team from Louis Carr to Vicky Free, for their continued leadership and service. They have been the springboard for many careers and continue to promote entertainment that is inspiring, intellectual and progressive.
