‘Montgomery to Memphis’ documentary premiering on Bounce TV
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, on Aug. 28, Bounce TV will present the exclusive television premiere of the documentary “King: A Filmed Record … Montgomery to Memphis” dedicated to the honor and memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Directed by Sidney Lumet and Joseph L. Mankiewicz, the rarely-seen 1970 film features historical footage of the March on Washington and includes appearances by Sidney Poitier, Diahann Carroll, Bill Cosby, James Earl Jones, Ruby Dee, Harry Belafonte, Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Charlton Heston and other ardent supporters and friends of Dr. King.
Along with the documentary, the network will premiere a series of new interviews with Dr. King’s eldest son Martin Luther King III, Civil Rights icon Congressman John Lewis, Ambassador Andrew Young, Usher Raymond and Tyrese. Each will reflect on the importance of the march and its relevance in today’s racial climate.
King III and Ambassador Young are part of the Bounce TV founding group and serve on the board of directors.
“Montgomery to Memphis” premieres tonight at 7 p.m. on Bounce TV.
