Walmart has already announced plans to sell both of Apple’s new iPhone models for a discounted price on Sept. 20.
The company announced on Thursday, Sept. 12, that they will sell the iPhone 5C for $79 and the iPhone 5S for $189. The prices represent a $10 discount on the 5C and a $10 discount on the 5S from their regular retail prices through Apple and major wireless companies.
The 5C comes in five colors — white, pink, yellow, blue and green and is very similar to the iPhone 5, which it will replace. The 5S will be available in three new metallic colors — gold, silver and space gray and will be the higher-end model and has a plethora of updated features.
Although Walmart is known for its “rollback” pricing, it’s not common for them to drop the prices on newly released technology. However, the price reductions don’t stop there. The retail giant is also discounting the older iPhone models as well just in time for holiday shopping. The discontinued iPhone 5 will cost $79 and the 4S will be 97 cents. The iPhone 4 will cost just 10 cents and will come with a $100 Walmart gift card.
Apple announced the release of the new smartphones last week. The 5C has been available for pre-order since Friday, Sept. 13. Both phones will officially go on sale Sept. 20.
