Dicarlo Bennett, 28, is not considered a terrorist. However, he has been arrested and is the lead suspect in connection with the multiple dry ice bomb found at Los Angeles International Airport over the weekend. A baggage handler for Servisair, Bennett was taken into custody on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2013, for possession of a destructive device near an aircraft and is being held on $1 million bail.

Bennett is suspected of taking the dry ice from a plane and placing it in an employee restroom Sunday night in Terminal two. Another device was found on a tarmac outside the Tom Bradley International Terminal, an official said, but was thrown away by another employee who found the dry ice in a 20-ounce bottle the next day and reported it.

Dry ice is widely used by vendors to keep food fresh. No one was injured in either incident but the devices could have caused serious injury to someone in close proximity, according to Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Michael Downing, who heads the department’s counter-terrorism and special operations bureau.
