Raekwon’s advice to Justin Bieber: ‘Don’t throw it all away’

A hip-hop veteran is offering some words of wisdom to controversial pop star Justin Bieber.

Raekwon spoke about Bieber’s run-ins with the law recently, and tried to advise The Beebz on working through his growing pains. Bieber, for those who don’t know, has become rather notorious over the past two years: his most recent offense involved being arrested for drag racing in Miami Beach. After he was stopped, authorities claimed that he was driving under the influence.

Bieber has also been accused of egging a neighbor’s house in California. Police searched his home and found illegal and prescription drugs.

Three years ago, the Wu-Tang Clan rhymer appeared on a remix for Bieber’s “Runaway Love.” Today, Rae says that he has respect for the young star, but wants him to be smarter in the way that he handles the spotlight.

“Shorty, you got to be held accountable for the things that you do, you know what I mean?” Rae said in an interview with AllHipHop. “Don’t throw it all away for nothing. People love you because they see that you have something — you can’t. You got to show them that you won’t change as a person, but you’ll grow through experiences.”

“Just be a little bit more cautious on how you do s–t, you know,” Rae also said. “Don’t do your s–t corny-looking. Do it in a way that people respect that you’re getting older. He got paper. He coolin’. He can have anything that he wants. Sometimes because of our success we let that go through our head, too. I like him, personally. That’s my guy. I wish him the best.”
