The New York Police Department was able to gather enough clues from two clueless teen robbers in the Fort Greene Park section of Brooklyn after the teens used a phone they stole from a man to take a selfie pic.

Cops also suspect that the two have been responsible for a series of muggings in the area, and they now face several counts of robbery.

DNAInfo reported on the arrest of 19-year-old Tyquan Solomon and 16-year-old Terrance Sistrunk. Solomon and Sistrunk encountered a man in the early morning hours of February 2, and brandished a Black BB gun. The teens stole an iPhone and $205 in cash from the 22-year-old victim.

Later that day, the victim used an iPhone cloud-based service and discovered several pictures of the robbers posing in selfie photos and holding a wad of cash. The NYPD was able to use the photos to identify the muggers, and then later arrested and charged them each with five counts of robbery.

Police say the muggers may be connected to crimes occurring in the area over the last two months.

They are asking for the public’s help in tying past crimes to the robbers by calling into the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
