Americans were once again filled with mixed emotions following the verdict in the case of Michael Dunn, who was on trial for murdering unarmed teen Jordan Davis, 17, the day after Thanksgiving in November 2012, giving a new meaning to Black Friday. To add insult to injury, the day after Valentine’s Day and on the eve of Jordan Davis’ 19th birthday, the jury couldn’t agree on 1st-degree murder in Dunn’s trial, leaving the judge with the only option of declaring a mistrial.
On February 16, 1995, Ron Davis and Lucia McBath welcomed their son, Jordan Russell Davis into the world. He moved from Atlanta to Jacksonville, Fla. with his father in 2010 and attended Wolfson High School. He had dreams of joining the military.
