Ledisi interview
In addition to dishing on the Obamas and her weight loss, Ledisi revealed to rolling out that her album,”The Truth” is somewhat of an “audio journal” for her.
“It’s amazing,” said Ledisi. “A lot of times we like to live in denial and instead of that I decided that I’m going to face the truth about everything about me. It’s about me and the relationships around me, and I’m singing about it. The songs are more up-tempo; people are used to me singing ballads. This is more like my character; I’m very vibrant and loud.”
In addition to her latest project, the songstress confirmed that she’ll be returning to Atlanta next month for a performance at Chastain Park Amphitheater. The concert sponsored by Essence Magazine, also features singer Robert Glasper and is part of her “The Truth Tour.”
“On May 9, I’ll be in Atlanta at Chastain Park. I’m excited about it,” said Ledisi. “I love that Atlanta has been one of my top markets and supporting me since the beginning. Especially rolling out; as an independent artist it was my first interview here in Atlanta.
