There’s only one week left before the third season premiere of “R&B Divas Atlanta,” and though series villain Nicci Gilbert walked away from the show after a tough season of fights with her cast mates, her biggest enemy, Syleena Johnson, recently spoke out on the controversy and defended Gilbert against her haters.

While chatting with Sister 2 Sister, Johnson discussed Gilbert’s departure and explained that, like many of the fans, she’s glad that Gilbert is gone.

“You know I don’t miss Nicci. Everybody knows that,” said Johnson, adding that she doesn’t think Gilbert has rightfully taken responsibility for her bad behavior last season. “I don’t hate Nicci at all. I think she needs to be accountable for some of her actions, but I don’t hate her at all. I wish her the best in everything she does.”

However, despite her issues with Gilbert, Johnson explains that Gilbert didn’t deserve the extreme backlash from fans, in which many of them said that they wouldn’t support Gilbert’s music anymore.

“What Nicci and Kelly went through, I think it’s terrible,” said Johnson, speaking for “R&B Divas L.A’s former villain, Kelly Price. “They’re bananas; that’s true, but I didn’t think it was enough to say, ‘I’m not going to buy someone’s records.’ They’re human beings. They make mistakes like we all do.”

And although Johnson thinks that both women were undeserving of their extreme backlashes, she does think that Price has a leg up on Gilbert when it comes to humility. Read what Johnson had to say about the two reality TV villains after the cut. – nicholas robinson
