National Black MBA Association, Atlanta’s local chapter president Eric Harrison’s favorite sayings is “If you want to know where I stand, watch my feet.”
“Well, I stand squarely on my commitment to ensure that the Atlanta Chapter is the premier organization in Atlanta; to ensure that we are focused on people, programs and profitability; to ensure that we win chapter of the year!; and to ensure that we are the voice, the ambassadors for higher education, entrepreneurship and professional career development throughout not just Atlanta, but the entire NBMBAA organization,” he said.
With more than 900 members, Atlanta has ranked as the largest chapter in the organization since 1999. From a field of impressive competing chapters, the Atlanta chapter was chosen for “Chapter of the Year” by the national organization in 2010, 2006, and 2004 and three years consecutively as the Southern Region’s “Chapter of the Year” (1997, 1998, 1999) due to its effectiveness in executing programs and initiatives. The Atlanta chapter was also selected as host for the 2006 and 2011 NBMBAA national conferences.
“We are working tirelessly to welcome the 12,000 people who will be coming to Atlanta in September and we are expecting to reach $20 million surpassing last years numbers. We look forward to the collaboration again and cannot wait until September,” he said.
