Yasin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def)
Yasin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, converted to Islam at age 19. Before the opening of every album, Bey has said a prayer in Arabic, “Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem,” (“In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful”).
