Shonda Rhimes blasts homophobic viewer

108703_0052

Shonda Rhimes already went head-to-head with one critical New York Times writer last month over her portrayal of black women in shows like “Scandal,” but recently Rhimes had to take on an angry fan about her inclusion of “gay scenes” on her new hit show “How To Get Away With Murder.”

In the new ABC hit, which stars Viola Davis, Rhimes features the romantic and sexual exploits of lead character, Connor.

And although some viewers see the storyline as groundbreaking, one particular viewer decided to slam Rhimes on Twitter for showing too much gayness on TV.

But like before, Rhimes brilliantly defended her writing and the LGBT community all in a powerful couple of tweets.

On the real, I do NOT want all of the hot sex scenes to be gay scenes. Since both seasons of the show began, it seems only the gay characters have been involved in any steamy scenes.

Between the 2 shows Scandal and HTGAWM, there has only been like 1 hetero scene (the 30 second scene with Viola and her lover) since the season began. I mean, seriously, gay or straight, who really wants to see Cyrus Beane in a sex scene? I forgot there was the scene with the black girl and her gay boyfriend which wasn’t particularly sexy or worth watching.

well everyone is entitled to their opinion on gay scenes but things have changed i mean they show men kissing on tv now holding hands and raising kids together, its realitiy some folks dont have gays in their family those are the most lost. . they dont see all the changes cause they refuse to .. gays are accepted now , look at ellen she talks about porsha like a normal relationship .. people like ellen so no one cares what she doing with porsha in the bed room . maybe god does but he told us not to judge …dont throw stones they have their own mountain to climb shonda is really saying shut up .. and tune off the program if you dont like it .. . many people feel like this viewer do i have heard people talk that hate gays ..but our world is changing and like it or not gays is here to stay there is one born ever 5 mins in this country DEAL WITH IT

Dealing with it! Won’t be watching anymore! And don’t call me homophobic! I have friends who are gay. I just don’t want to see them making out!

Nothing but SODOM AND GOMORRAH. So, I don’t watch because I choose NOT to accept and agree with an act that is CLEARLY an abomination to the Heavenly Father. Therefore, I refuse to follow this world into a fiery destiny. Whether you believe it or not, it won’t be water but fire and brimstone this time. The truth is, they’re just walking charcoal..! smh

That’s funny! Pretty much all of her shows dial up the debauchery (murder, lies, deceit and adultery) so it’s funny that you can only choose 1 sin that justifies you NOT watching the show.
