For a second time this past weekend, another police officer has lost his life in the line of duty. Officials in Tarpon Springs, Florida, have reported that officer Charles “Charlie K” Kondek was shot and killed Sunday while responding to a call regarding a noise complaint. Residents of the community had reported a man, now identified as Marco Antonio Parilla Jr., was banging on doors. Apparently Parilla was looking for a neighbor who “snitched “on him to police.
Officer Kondek responded and Parilla shot him multiple times, hitting him above his bullet proof vest. Parilla then carjacked a woman and ran over officer Kondek as he fled the scene. He then led the police on a high speed chase and crashed into a pole. He was apprehended while trying to then escape on foot. Parilla was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder. Officials have stated t at the murder of Kondek is unrelated to the revenge killing of the NYPD officers.
