Grammy-winning songbird Chrisette Michele seems to be coming out of her shell this season on “R&B Divas: LA” and displaying more of her personality. She’s giving us boss lady vibes, throwing shade at new cast member, Brave Williams.
Brave is new to Los Angeles and knows Lil Mo from her Baltimore hometown. She believes she can only be friends with Lil Mo and Chrisette. Hmm.
On last night’s episode, we witnessed Brave making an attempt to get to know the ladies better by suggesting a girls shopping day. Typically, this would be an awesome idea to any real diva, however, Brave had something unconventional in mind. She decided to take Lil Mo and Leela James to Trashy Lingerie, a lingerie store renowned for custom-made undies, celebrity clientele and lingerie models. The shocked pair were in the store acting like “Grannies” according to Williams. Seems they took offense to the lingerie suggestions offered by Williams. I don’t know about you but what I interpreted last night was Brave trying to break the ice and get to know the girls. Let’s just breakdown “my” interpretation of what happened. The trip to Trashy Lingerie seemed to be a good ice breaker activity, but it went horribly wrong.
There’s so much to talk about in the store. Lil Mo is the only one with a man (a husband), and the fact that she doesn’t wear lingerie made this the perfect outing for her to find something sexy to keep it hot in her marriage. Next, Leela, you know we love you but I didn’t think Brave meant “read you” like throwing shade or assuming she was down with you since college. It all seemed very innocent and I agree you aren’t “selling sex” but you still slaying on the red carpet and the stage with your stellar performances.
Chrisette, before you arrived at the video rehearsal, Brave expressed she invited you by to get your feedback. Seems Brave was looking for some constructive criticism from a successful artist and performer. I’m thinking this was a very flattering gesture given the fact you are such a perfectionist when you take the stage. But when you and Leela arrived at Lil Mo’s and you all started to insinuate Brave may be crazy, really?! Since when did being friendly, talkative and excited about your career make you crazy?
Ladies, ladies, ladies you are all so wonderful and talented. The fans hope by the end of the season there will be some type of compilation album with all your hits and maybe a song you can all sing together. Perhaps some female unity type of national anthem. Sometimes being around new people makes a person ramble and it’s nervous energy and maybe recalling accolades helps build a person’s self confidence in themselves. Give the newbies a chance!
