Nick Gordon’s Dr. Phil interview last month may have been a disaster, but something positive came out of it when Gordon agreed to go into rehab after admitting to Dr. Phil that he’d been abusing drugs and alcohol. Now, it’s being reported that Gordon is responding positively to his rehab treatment.
According to People, sources saying Gordon is finally on the right track to recovery from his drug and alcohol addiction thanks to rehab.
“Nick is responding well to rehab treatment with no relapses,” the source said. “The quiet time is good for him. He needed it.”
As viewers will remember, during the Dr. Phil interview, Gordon’s mother revealed that her son was battling with stress and depression over Bobbi Kristina being in a coma and that Bobby Brown wouldn’t allow him to see her in the hospital. Gordon’s mother even revealed that he’d attempted suicide over Bobbi’s tragic medical situation.
However, sources say that Gordon’s rehab stint has helped him deal with his emotional trauma over Bobbi.
“Nick is a special person with many temptations and needs to be in a place where he can continue to heal and grow,” the source said. “He should stay for a long time — as long as he will allow.”
“The best thing for Nick is that he is out of the way, out of the limelight,” the source added. “This way he can continue the process to improve himself and move forward in a better life. It is a blessing that he is in rehab.”
Well, we hope that Gordon does decide to stay in rehab until he’s sure he has the necessary tools to remain sober once he returns to the real world.
