Cynthia Bailey hosted a private viewing party for the return of season 8 “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” I must admit the season opener started with a series of eye openers we weren’t expecting. Our favorite couple Peter Thomas and Cynthia Bailey were having some issues. We have seen these issues before but this time Cynthia was putting her foot down and confronting Peter about her public embarrassment from his antics. For the first time, we also saw Peter Thomas speechless.

Meanwhile, the twirl queen Kenya Moore didn’t let us down with her outspoken opinion on several subjects. Moore also confronted Peter and expressed her disgust for his playboy ways.

The first person Sheree encountered at the Cynthia Bailey eyewear event was Marla Hampton and the two actually seemed happy to reunite. However, it didn’t take long before Kenya twirled on over to Sheree and let the entire group know she and Sheree were neighbors; then the shade throwing began.

Is it me or did Kenya Moore pick the wrong time to explain to Sheree the community’s alleged disdain for the status of the unfinished “Chateau Sheree.” Moore is also working on the rehabilitation of her own manor located approximately 500 feet down the street from the Chateau Sheree estate. Of course, it took Sheree about three seconds before she lashed back at Kenya, reminding her to remove the mold from her own palace before she decided to cast stones on her chateau.

Meanwhile, at the viewing party everyone couldn’t help but notice the absence of Peter Thomas. Perhaps Peter was having his own party at Bar One at the Charlotte, NC location or due to the subject matter of episode one, he may have decided to sit this one out. Kenya Moore was very subdued at the viewing party and did her best to avoid the photographers, respectfully declining photos for the evening. Other reality stars of the new We TV “Sellin It In the ATL” Alana Banks and Jae Christian came out to show Cynthia support.

This may be the first night I didn’t spot Cynthia Bailey sporting her eye wear on the red carpet. I imagine the rain outside had something to do with that. Nevertheless, Cynthia was flawless and gorgeous, as usual. She graced the room with style and appreciation for everyone trucking out in the rain and showing her much love on returning to the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” for another season and holding down her peach.
