Teddy Riley and Keshia Knight Pulliam partnered with Shanti Das for the third consecutive year to serve Thanksgiving dinner to over 500 homeless at the Atlanta Mission in downtown Atlanta. Riley turned it into a family affair as he was joined by his mom, his two sons, sister, attorney, Team Riley and some of his closest friends.
“Riley! Rudy!” I heard some of the men yell out from the crowd as Keshia Knight Pulliam and Teddy Riley moved through the crowds literally serving the people.
I wasn’t surprised to see philanthropist and Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall pop in and join former NFL Falcon Ed Hartwell and R&B crooner Donnell Jones in putting on the plastic apron and gloves and jumping right in serving the crowd huge helpings of Thanksgiving dinner on the biggest Styrofoam platters I’ve ever seen. Did I mention there was sweet tea, lemonade and sweet potatoe pie (or maybe it was pumpkin).
The president of the Art Institute gathered his staff, V-103 personality Big Tigger did a live remote along with Dave Boazman from WAOK and they had great supporters like Riley to jump on the mic and tell their stories of how things weren’t always so great. You never know what type of humble beginnings celebrities come from until you sometimes get the chance to hear them talk about it.
Take a look at some of the pics from this amazing day after the break.
