Jermaine Jackson‘s wife of over 10 years has decided to file for divorce.

According to media reports, Jackson’s wife, Halima Rashid, filed the divorce petition this past Tuesday and claimed that she and Jackson originally separated on November 28, 2015. In the documents, Rashid allegedly claims that the reason for the divorce is “irreconcilable differences.”

Jackson and Rashid originally married back in 2004 and their marriage seemed okay until Thanksgiving weekend, around the time that they legally separated, when news reports revealed that Rashid was arrested for domestic violence.

According to the reports, Jackson and Rashid were arguing in their Woodland Hills, California home when things went south and the couple ended up in a violent altercation. Sources say the fight was so bad that Rashid ended up biting Jackson on the leg, prompting Jackson to call the police to their home.

Once the police arrived on the scene, Rashid was arrested and charged with felony corporal injury on a spouse. However, Rashid wasn’t behind bars for long because she was released on bail for $50K just five hours after being put in the slammer.

The domestic violence case ended up being tossed out of court because authorities couldn’t determine who the aggressor in the fight was.

It seems like Jackson and Rashid’s marriage was never able to recover from the fight and now Rashid wants out of their marriage.

According to reports, Jackson, who is already a father of nine kids, never had any children with Rashid, so they won’t have to deal with any nasty custody or child support battles. However, sources say that Rashid, who is Jackson’s third wife, is seeking spousal support from Jackson.

Well, we hope Jackson and Rashid try to keep the peace during their divorce proceedings and we wish them both the best.
