Michael Jackson’s middle child and only daughter, Paris Jackson, made a tearful plea to cyberbullies on social media this week. “I don’t understand how there can be so much hatred in the world right now,” she began in a self-shot video via Instagram. “I’ve tried sticking up for myself. I’ve tried the whole blocking the haters thing, not reading the comments. I’ve tried a lot of things.”

While the 18-year-old remained vague about what set her off, she continued by questioning her interactions with her fans overall. “I don’t get why I’m such an easy target. I try to be nice to everybody that I meet. I give everyone a chance. I’m usually a trusting person. I try to be open with you guys about what I do on a daily basis. I share my life with you. I don’t hide a lot. I’m very public,” she added. “I’m sorry if there’s something that I’m doing that you guys don’t like. Maybe I’m too public. I don’t know.”

“When I was 14, I got so much hatred that, um, I tried to kill myself and then I took like a two-year break from social media,” Jackson recalled. “Nothing changed.”

Of course, Jackson isn’t the only celebrity to be targeted by Twitter trolls. “I know I’m not the only one. F—ing Justin Bieber went into a downward spiral because everybody that he dates gets so much hate,” Jackson added. “I have known his girlfriend Sofia [Richie] since I was 12 or 13. She’s one of the sweetest girls in the world and people are telling her to kill herself.”

Jackson is referring to the daughter of Lionel Richie who came under scrutiny from Bieber’s fans after they made their relationship public. The harassment got so bad the “What do You Mean” singer threatened to make his Instagram account private and then deleted it altogether.

“We’re human beings, man. We got hearts and brains and feelings and when you say damaging things to people … it f—s them up. It really f—s people up when you do that and I don’t know if that’s what you want, but it’s exhausting. Really and truly — it’s exhausting,” Jackson concluded.

After viewing the clip, one thing is for sure. Jackson’s plea is a cry for help. Show her some love and support in the comment section below.
