Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Jermaine Dupri, Ron DeVoe, Kawan Prather, DJ Shakim, Big Krit, Brooke Payne, Brad James, and Kelly Price were just some of the celebrities who showed up for a private Conversations with Minister Farrakhan event at the Gathering Spot in midtown Atlanta. Many celebrities actually arrived early to get a good seat and hear the message Farrakhan, 83, prepared for the evening.
The conversation ranged from Barack Obama and why he had to denounce Farrakhan, to Donald Trump’s presidency campaign, to reminiscing about the good ol’ days when the Source Magazine ruled the streets of the hip hop community. Farrakhan was looking for Hip Hop Weekly publisher Dave Mayes in the audience, but Dave was in the back. Farrakhan also spoke highly about Killer Mike and his supportive efforts to have the Black community move their money into Black banks.
After acknowledging the presence of Rick Ross, 2Chainz and Jermaine Dupri, Farrakhan made it known that he loves them. He was so excited to see all the celebrity faces and even called Kelly Price.
This was a great small meeting that preceded a bigger gathering at the Fox Theater where Farrakhan spoke before a larger audience on Sunday.
