Black Ink Chicago tattoo parlor owner and star of Vh1’s hit reality show of the same name, Ryan Henry is a real stand up type of dude. He means what he says and walks in his talk and unlike a lot of reality tv stars, he is not willing to sell his soul for the cameras. We were able to catch up with him A3C weekend at City of Ink’s new location on Peters Street in Atlanta, Georgia.

Henry brought out the entire crew from his Chicago location with him. Entering, I noticed Phor, a recently release from jail Van, Kat Tatt, and two minutes later I saw Charmaine Johnise.

Months ago, I met Henry in Charlotte at the grand opening of Dutchess Lattimore’s tattoo shop Pretty in Ink. When we met, Henry was having a difficult time adjusting to the matrix of “reality TV life.” “It’s a different life having cameras in your face all the time. “I’m just me and I’m from the streets so I’m not a model or an actor and I only know how to be who I am. I think I’ve quit the show about once a week since we’ve been filming,” said a very shy Henry.

This time the conversation was very different and I could tell the adjustment to the world of reality TV had settled in as Henry had a different comfort level speaking on what was currently happening with 9mag Chicago family. His trusty, beautiful assistant was right by his side assisting with the sales of 9 Mag shirts and the requests of incoming patrons for pictures and Snap Chats. Henry is such a private person, we went to the back of the shop to conduct his video interview. Check out what he had to say to our host Jenna Pye, after the break.
