Common, Al Sharpton, Mona Scott-Young attend Circle of Sisters Expo

Circle of Sisters kicked off Oct.15-16 at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center in New York City. For 15 years, the expo has proudly served as the largest expo for women of color, hosting a variety of panel discussions, seminars, inspirational services, a fashion show in addition to 200 vendors selling unique products for an exclusive shopping and food tasting experience. Each year, Circle of Sisters brings out some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, from authors to field experts and political figures, to help empower and educate women in attendance.


The 2016 speakers and included performers Common, Mona Scott-Young, Judge Glenda Hatchett, Rev. Al Sharpton, Susan L. Taylor, Mayor Cory Booker, Terry McMillian, Nicole Ari Parker, Boris Kodjoe, Steve Harvey, Faith Evans, Eric Benet, Fantasia, Tank, Jennifer Hudson, Salt ‘n’ Pepa, Bell Biv Devoe, Big Daddy Kane and gospel powerhouses like Smokie Norful, Karen Clark Sheard, Kiki Sheard, Vickie Winans, Tye Tribbett, Deitrick Haddon and more.


The event was sponsored by premiere African American radio stations in New York City including WBLS-FM, WLIB-AM and WQHT HOT 97.1-FM.
