Michelle Obama wishes her mother a very happy birthday.
In the wee hours of the night, the former first lady took to Twitter where she issued a heartfelt message to her mom, Marian Robinson, on her birthday. “Happy Birthday Mom! Your unconditional love has made me who I am today. You are my rock,” she wrote. “My ❤️. I’ll always be your Miche. I love you.”
Of course, Obama isn’t alone in her sentiments. Though Robinson and her husband Fraser “didn’t have much” while raising their children, Michelle and Craig, she feels like “maybe, just maybe, Fraser and I got something right,” Robinson previously told Essence.
“We didn’t do anything special. But I see the adults our kids have become and I can’t help but smile a little bit. With Michelle, I see how whatever’s in front of her, she’ll throw her whole heart into it. Whether she’s helping kids learn how to eat healthy foods and exercise, supporting our military families or inspiring young people to pursue their dreams, Michelle will always give 110 percent. And if she hits a snag, that’s when she gives 120 percent,” she added.

The message, which has since been retweeted 16K times — favorited more than 167k times — immediately gave everyone the feels. Within minutes, Obama was flooded with messages of support, a series of silly GIFS bearing the words “I miss you,” and pleas to place a presidential bid (2020).

Happy birthday to your mom! ❤ She raised one class act. You’re leading by example & raising two lovely daughters yourself. We miss you!

Needless to say, the sweet note was the pick-me-up many needed following yet another week of political chaos.
Happy birthday, Mrs. Robinson. Share your birthday wishes in the comment section below.
