Cardi B’s little sister, Hennessy Carolina, has very little intellectual stamina, meaning she does not, or cannot, pay attention to an entire conversation and interpret it accurately before shooting ignorance through the opening in her face.
Following Amara La Negra’s controversial “Breakfast Club” interview where Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy were accused of dismissing and demeaning her colorism fight, Cardi B’s little sister entered and did a verbal drive by — meaning she shot at everything except her intented target.
Hennessy Carolina, who appeared on “Love & Hip Hop New York” season 7, apparently took issue with La Negra allegedly saying Cardi benefitted from colorism (despite the fact it might be true) and then went off on a Twitter tirade aimed at La Negra.
According to Hennessy, the Miami Latino should be on Cardi’s side considering that they’re all Dominican and Cardi also had to jump through cultural hoops to be accepted.
“Okay I like her she’s obviously beautiful,” Carolina tweeted. “This is the same message my sister has been trying to spread for a while now, but it doesn’t count because she’s not so dark? People f*** with Cardi because of who she is, not because she’s light skinned. I think that’s what Charlamagne was saying, a girl from her same country with her same hair in braids from the hood that had to become a stripper because it was hard for her to find a job BECAUSE IF [SIC] HER HAIR AND COLOR. […] We are woke and we’re fighting for the same rights girl.”
We applaud Carolina’s passion in defense of her sister, but it was not what La Negra said. Not even close.
La Negra said she alone struggled in the Latin market because of her dark skin and Cardi B hasn’t seen success in that market either. How that can be construed as hate in Hennessy’s eyes is beyond us.
She said, “Cardi B is Dominican and she’s mixed with something else, yes. Now she’s America’s darling, okay so at the end of the day she popped off in the American, not the Latin market.”
La Negra has since responded to Hennessy. Turn the electronic page to see what they both said in a back-and-forth that would have been avoided if Hennessy had bothered to listen more carefully and with better interpretation skills.
