Danyel Surrency Jones is a business strategist and philanthropist. As a serial entrepreneur, Jones is the co-founder and chief executive officer of POWERHANDZ Inc., a global athletic training and rehabilitation product tech company that creates equipment that enhances overall performance. She also owns Danyel Surrency Jones Consulting, a business strategy agency focused on building sales and marketing channels to create sustainable business models.
As a Black woman, what do you consider your superpowers to be?
My greatest superpower[s] as a Black woman [are] a resilient mindset and my authentic soul. The combination of these powers creates the source of my strength. That reminds me on my toughest days, that I can do anything.
Why is it important for women of color to work in leadership roles and decision-making capacities?
It’s very important for women of color to have leadership roles because we need to illustrate [our] own strength for ourselves, other leaders and for other Brown girls who aspire to be our future leaders.
What qualities make you unique as an African American female leader?
My Brownness drives me to show up with excellence. My creativity lens is very diverse because I appreciate the uniqueness in others. My empathic heart reminds me to see, feel and hear another perspective. My grit helps kick doors down that would otherwise stay closed. Click here to continue
