As the weather begins to cool, a new slate of movies is scheduled to hit theaters. Ranging from adventure to comedy to drama, the fall movie schedule will keep audiences warm. Here are five must-see movies we can’t wait to see to close out 2019.

The extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman’s escape from slavery and transformation into one of America’s greatest heroes.

Waves

Waves traces the journey of a suburban African-American family. With a well-intentioned, but domineering father to lead them, they navigate love and forgiveness after a loss.

Waves opens in theaters Nov. 15

Queen & Slim

While on a forgettable first date together in Ohio, a black man and a black woman, are pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. The situation escalates, with sudden and tragic results, when the man kills the police officer in self-defense.

In fear for their lives, the man, a retail employee, and the woman, a criminal defense lawyer, go on the run. But the incident is captured on video and goes viral, and the couple unwittingly become a symbol of trauma, terror, grief and pain for people across the country.
