NBC’s new shows for 2020 will cover everything from forensics to communal parenting.
Rolling out was in attendance at the 2020 press tour on Saturday. The all-day event provided insights on the network’s most popular returning shows and sneak peeks at what’s to come.
“Briarpatch” — USA Network
“Briarpatch” follows Allegra Dill (Rosario Dawson), an investigator who returns to her border-town Texas home after her sister’s murder. Based on the book Briarpatch by Ross Thomas, the anthology series follows Dill’s search for her sister’s killer.
The season also stars Jay R. Ferguson (“Mad Men”), Brian Geraghty (“Chicago P.D.,” “Ray Donovan”), and Edi Gathegi (“StartUp”).
“Briarpatch” premieres on USA Network Feb. 6 at 10 p.m. EST/9 p.m. CST.
“Lincoln Rhyme: The Hunt For the Bone Collector” — NBC
The book series made popular by the movie starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie takes a turn on the tube.
Russell Hornsby stars in the title role of Lincoln Rhyme, NYPD’s genius forensic detective. Rhyme was in hot pursuit of an infamous New York serial killer called the Bone Collector.
After a close encounter with the Bone Collector left him a quadriplegic, Rhyme retires from the force. When a promising young officer named Amelia Sachs (Ariel Kebbel) finds evidence suggesting the killer’s return, Rhyme forms a partnership with Sachs to hunt the notorious felon.
The cast includes Brían F. O’Byrne, Tate Ellington, Courtney Grosbeck, Ramses Jimenez, Brooke Lyons, Roslyn Ruff, and Michael Imperioli.

“The Good Place” — (The Final Season) NBC
The ensemble cast comedy about living in the afterlife returns for its final season.
Time is running out for “The Good Place” inhabitants Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper) and the others. The residents will see the results of their experiment, the arrival of new test subjects, and the transformation of several characters.
“The Good Place” airs Thursday nights at 8:30/7:30 CST.
