How did your collaboration with Young Dro come about?
Dro invited me to come to his mixtape release party some years ago. I went to meet up with him at a party with DJ Drama. I met T.I. for the first time and I gave them my album. I was appreciative of being there. I didn’t know years later that I’d end up having a song with him.
I hit him up about the feature and he bit on it and it happened at the right time. Now he has Atlanta’s hottest song … right now. “Tik Tok” is one of the top streamed songs on iTunes right now. We just dropped our record on iTunes [and Spotify].
What advice do you have for young people who want to enter the music industry?
You need spiritual direction and counseling. You have to try to follow the Lord God with all your heart and stay positive.
