April is going to be fire. Literally.
Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announced a blazing lineup for the month, which will feature an Easter Day matchup on April 2, 2021, between two canonized pillars of R&B: The Isley Brothers and Earth, Wind & Fire.
The announcement comes after the heavyweight Verzuz bout between Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon and Ghostface Killah on March 20, 2021.
We got so much on the way and can’t wait to reveal the rest, but for now… #VERZUZ

The Isley Brothers, who are headed by sensuous crooner Ronald Isley, 79, and his brother Ernie, 69, are best known for their romantic ballads “Between the Sheets,” “That Lady,” “Footprints in the Dark” and a plethora of others. The group shared the same announcement with its 23,000 Instagram followers with the caption:
“Very excited to announce The Isley Brothers vs Earth, Wind & Fire coming. April 4th #VERZUZ! Time to #SHOUT for the #IsleyBrothers! LIVE on the @verzuztv Instagram or @triller.”
Earth, Wind & Fire are spearheaded by Phillip Bailey and Maurice White. They are renowned for their hits “Groove Tonight,” “September,” “Boogie Wonderland,” “Devotion,” and a vault filled with other seminal songs.
Swizz and Timbs also teased 5.5 million IG followers with the lineup for the new season of Verzuz for the month of May but coyly declined to reveal the acts yet.
“We’re just getting started,” the Verzuz IG account stated. “We got so much on the way and can’t wait to reveal the rest.”
Another blockbuster matchup will take place on April 20 — aka 4/20, the unofficial holiday for cannabis users — featuring two iconic rappers who love to partake in marijuana usage: Method Man and Redman.
Ironically, both men starred in the cult comedy, How High, which centers around a ghost who helps the pair of marijuana misfits get into Harvard University after smoking up the ashes of a deceased friend.
