Big Sean and his mom to release wellness videos on mental health

Big Sean also told Dyson that he went to therapy and shared his story because of the stigmas in the Black community associated with mental health and how people are tagged as mentally unstable because they need to talk out their problems.

“Because I just was stressed out and not happy. I realized that I need to stop everything I’m doing and figure this out or I’ma self-destruct. I took the time off, canceled everything I was doing, sought therapy, connected with God more, spiritually grounded myself and put myself first as a priority for the first time ever,” he told the professor and political commentator.

The rapper established The Big Sean Foundation in Detroit in 2012. The non-profit corporation has worked in the community for the past few years with health and educational programs and built a recording studio for kids and adults to learn sound engineering and recording.
