Is there a specific moment when you realized photography meant more to you than just taking pictures?
It’s crazy, this year makes eight years since I started PHEAUXTOGRAPHY, and though it’s been incredible to see how my photography has grown … it took the chaos 2020 for me to realize what it’s done for me. Sometimes it takes losing everything for you to see your one thing. For me, when the dust settled, it was photography and the vivid color that it adds to my life.
How would you describe your style of photography?
My work has a hyper-authenticity to it; real life but better. I want to honor the truth of my subject, but in the most polished light possible. My aesthetic is clean and vibrant. I want my work to pop and capture my subjects in a way that makes them feel larger-than-life.
How do you incorporate music in your photo shoots?
There is no photo shoot without music … just can’t happen. I feel like I could find a way to do a photo shoot without a camera before I could do a photo shoot without music.
Five songs that will energize any photo shoot?
Anything that’s upbeat. Some of my favorites on my current playlist are:
“I like it” (Dillon Francis Remix)- Cardi B
“Post That” – Leikeli47
“Somebody”-Kyle Edwards
“Pretty Savage”-BlackPink
“Mood4Eva” – Beyoncé, Jay-Z
