Drake has decided to pull a collaborative song he had on French Montana’s latest album They Got Amnesia in the aftermath of the Astroworld tragedy.
Ten people died during a stampede to get to Travis Scott’s show during the multifaceted music festival in Houston in early November 2021. More than 100 lawsuits have been filed against Drake, Scott, Live Nation and others, as hundreds of survivors were also seriously injured — some permanently.
Aubrey Drake Graham believes it is too soon to come out with the new cut, “Splash Brothers,” while the families of the deceased continue to grieve, according to TMZ.
However, other outlets report that the real reason Drake pulled the song off the album is that the single contained some subtle shots at former archrival Ye and his estranged wife Kim Kardashian.

Some industry observers believe that Drake wanted to squash the song because he and Ye have officially reconciled during a peace summit in Toronto after their years-long beef. Label boss J. Prince even showed off the meeting on his Twitter account.

In the song that has been leaked onto social media, “Splash Brothers” reportedly contained the line where Drake spits, “I f— a rapper’s wife. She ain’t even my type but I make the sacrifice.”
If this report is true, then it would make sense for Drake to yank the song down. But TMZ reports that the camp notified the publication that the song was pulled out of respect to the lives lost at Astroworld.
