Actress Meagan Good is going to steel herself against the skyrocketing and inexplicable rise in celebrity home invasions in metro Los Angeles by acquiring some steel.

Good announced her intentions to protect her home with a firearm amid the horrifying crime wave that has swept over the city. This includes the tragic break-in and shooting death of music legend Clarence Avant’s wife Jacqueline while they slept in their Beverly Hills home on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021.

The Think Like a Man and Stomp the Yard star said the entire LA area is gripped by fear of brazen criminality, especially the fact that organized invaders are breaking into homes while celebrities are home. Good feels she has no choice but to procure a gun.

“You know, what’s crazy is for a long time, I felt like I didn’t. But now, with everything that’s going on, I would feel more comfortable with a gun,” Good, 40, said on Charlamagne Tha God’s new Comedy Central show “Tha God’s Honest Truth.”

Good said she was apprehensive before because she didn’t think she would have time to get the weapon if something like that happened to her.

“The reason before my thought was like if something did happen to me, would I have the time to pull out a gun to defend myself?” she asked rhetorically. “I don’t want to kill anybody or hurt anybody, but I will defend myself.”

Good’s and many others’ fears are mounting due to this long list of organized criminals and gangs busting into celebrity homes of late.

  • In April 2020, burglars climbed onto the bedroom balcony of the mansion belonging to Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis and her husband while they were in bed. They fled before police arrived.
  • In November 2021, Dorit Kemsley, of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” said she begged for her life when three assailants stormed into her bedroom while she was asleep and made off with more than a half-million dollars worth of goods.
  • Terrence J, a former BET host and star of Think Like a Man, told the LAPD that men followed him home late one night and into his driveway in November 2021. When he disobeyed their commands to get out of the car, they fired shots as he sped off. He was unhurt and the would-be robbers fled.
  • The Encino, Calif., home of Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has been broken into four times in the past few years. Thieves also burglarized the L.A. area homes of Rihanna, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Demi Lovato, Floyd Mayweather, Rhonda Rousey, Jason Derulo, David Spade, Scott Disick, Rakim Mayers, Alanis Morissette, Fabio, Amber Rose, Nicki Minaj, Kendall Jenner, Derek Fisher, Emmy Rossum and Jaime Pressley in the past few years alone, according to CBS Local Los Angeles.
