“I want to address what’s happening with my tour tickets. The reality is these are regular people who purchased tickets and are reselling them for a profit. It’s not right but that’s what happening. We don’t have control over it because we don’t know these people, but it’s part of the reason why we moved into larger venues in 7 cities — to release more tickets for my fans to purchase. I just felt like I needed to say something because I hate to see my true fans upset and unable to purchase tickets that they’ve been waiting for,” the “Girl Like Me” singer tweeted.
National Public Radio also named Heaux Tales their No. 1 album of the year and during her Soul Train Awards acceptance speech she stated that the project was about today’s women standing in their power and owning who they are.
“I wrote this project for women to love themselves no matter what stage of life they’re in. You have to love yourself especially because society will have us, especially Black women, not love anything about ourselves,” she explained.
