“The Real” co-host Jeannie Mai is now a mother at age 43.
The wife of rap mogul Jeezy delivered the couple’s baby on Jan. 11, 2022, the Atlanta-based emcee announced.
Mai and Jeezy, aka Jay Wayne Jenkins, 44, have yet to reveal the gender of the newborn. But it didn’t stop fans, including actresses Gabrielle Union and Tamera Mowry Housley, from leaving heart emojis along with “CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!”
“I asked God for a life of love and happiness. He sent me my family,” she wrote on Instagram with a photo from the Atlanta-area hospital. “Baby Jenkins is here.”
Mai told WWD in September 2020 that she didn’t want to do a gender reveal because that “makes things more exciting rather than defining the baby with pink skirts or blue corduroy shorts.”
On the daytime talk show “The Real,” Mai gave specific reasons behind her rationale.
“I’m getting everything because I want the baby to have options,” Mai continued. “It’s very awakening to see how much you put your baby into very specific stereotypes, based on whether or not you know it’s a boy or a girl.”
