DDG turned a moment of defeat into monetization.
The rapper and social media guru dropped the music video to his song “STAY IN MY CIRCLE” on June 17. In the video, are apparent iPhone clips of him sitting on a curb next to a police car before being placed in handcuffs.
On June 6, DDG was in custody in California for a few hours on a felony gun charge. He reportedly bonded out for $35,000 around 4 a.m. on June 7. Shortly thereafter, he released his latest single “Storyteller.” In the minutes leading up to the release of the single, he went live on Instagram and told viewers he wouldn’t address any legal matters on social media.
A notable reference in “STAY IN MY CIRCLE” was acknowledging his girlfriend looks like Janet Jackson. DDG has been rumored to be dating Halle Bailey, who has been compared to Jackson multiple times on the internet.
