Adrienne Bailon’s long and arduous journey toward fulfilling her dreams of motherhood has a happy ending.
After years of trying to carry a baby to full term, the former co-host of “The Real” welcomed her first newborn, which she showed off to her 5.6 million Instagram followers on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022.
Bailon’s husband Israel Haughton was by her side as she cradled their infant to her bosom. She penned a powerful testimony about the journey – tumultuous and dispiriting at times – that makes her son’s arrival that much more of a miracle.
“If you have followed our love story … you know that our journey to baby has been very challenging – But God is true to His word and His promises,” Bailon wrote. “We have quietly prayed while sitting on this most magnificent secret for the last nine months. He is worth every tear, every disappointment, every delayed prayer, every IVF cycle, every miscarriage. Everything.”

Bailon, 38, revealed to “The Real” audience in 2018 how much anguish she endured to try to give her husband a child. Haughton, a gospel singer, already has four children from a previous relationship; daughters Mariah and Milan and sons Jordan and Israel.
“I think that as an audience we should be sensitive to the fact that everybody doesn’t get pregnant right away. … I thought it would happen so easily for me and it just hasn’t happened that way,” she said four years ago.
“I’ve had to come to peace with that it’ll happen when it’s God’s timing and I believe in that and I have faith in all of that,” she added. “But it can be really discouraging and it can be really frustrating.”
Today, the frustration has ended for the Haughton household.
