After the clip went viral of Kevin Gates spitting in a fan’s mouth during his tour stop in Portsmouth, Virginia, concert-goers piled in the Amory in downtown Minneapolis to see what Mr. Gates would do next.
DJ Chose opened the show with Kevin Gates karaoke. Fans were allowed to get on stage and rap a Kevin Gates song. Concert-goers screamed with their hands raised high to get the chance to get on stage in front of a packed house. After his set, Lil Zach The DJ, started a dance party by playing some of the hottest songs. He also brought out Tay Savage, an upcoming rapper from Chicago and one of the new faces of Chicago Drill Music.
DJ Bubba got the crowd hyped before BigXThaPlug hit the stage. He made his way to the stage with high energy. The Dallas, Texas native is known for his hits “Whip It,” “Boy,” “Hit List,” and “Safehouse.” The crowd matched his energy and hit song after song without much pause in between.
DJ Chose opened up for Kevin Gates as he is one of Kevin Gates’s producers. He played songs he wrote for Gates and performed the songs that featured Gates. He introduced “Trying” and gave us an old hit, “Thick.” The remix features Megan Thee Stallion.
Kevin Gates walked through the crowd rapping his song “Cartel Swag.” He went from the second level onto the main floor, which brought him to the stage. Everyone’s camera phone was out to capture him walking in the crowd. He went and did a quick clothing change and stepped out of the house door prop to the song “Facts.” At one point in the show, he told the women over 50 to plug their ears as he ranted about what he likes to do to women. Some women in the audience appeared shocked, while others seemed to not mind so much as they yelled and screamed back at him. Gates does not let up on his show; it is high energy from start to finish.
