Tech executive attended the 2023 HOPE Global Forums

Jerome Howard is the COO of Culture Wireless, an internet service provider dedicated to providing communities with high-quality and affordable internet service.

Howard attended the HOPE Global Forums, where he spoke with rolling out about the recent accomplishments of the company and how the forum has helped amplify his brand.

Tell us about your company.

Culture Wireless is a Black-owned internet service provider where we focus on delivering affordable and quality internet to underserved and unserved communities. Right now, we have both wireless and fiber networks that we’re launching all around the country, and we have already started beginning conversations in Nigeria as well as Ghana.

What are some recent accomplishments that your company has been a part of?

We were accepted into the a16z TXO accelerator program. We just completed our demo day and pitched in front of a lot of great investors. Right now, we’re getting ready to close our C round of a million dollars to go and finish our wireless and network build. To close out 2023, we just finished our build in Vine City [a neighborhood in Atlanta]. We’ve just finished our fiber build in Clayton County, and we started accepting customers this week, so we’re excited about that.

How does a convention like the HOPE Global Forums amplify your brand?

Being an underrepresented founder, it’s hard for us to get our message out, so being on a stage like this allows us to get in front of people and network with great mentors, business leaders, and founders. There’s no better platform than HOPE Global Forums.

What was your panel about?

I spoke on scaling your business beyond borders. What we were talking about is how to start your business and automatically think about how it can scale from the beginning. What are the ways that financially you can scale your business, and technology-wise, what do you need to be thinking about to scale to the masses?
