Hunter Biden was placed on the spot as he exited a recent media scrum. On Jan. 10, after Hunter’s surprise 17-minute visit to his own House hearing with his legal team, the son of President Joe Biden spoke to the media as he walked out. One reporter asked a pointed question.
“What kind of crack do you normally smoke, Mr. Biden?” the reporter asked. “Are you on crack today?”
Hunter Biden stared at the reported but did not respond.

Hunter Biden, 53, admitted to an addiction to alcohol and crack cocaine in his 2021 book, Beautiful Things.
“It was a journey, but thank God I made it through,” Hunter once told Jimmy Kimmel.
He said he was at every motel and hotel in downtown Los Angeles until he couldn’t stay there anymore.
“I wrote about it in vivid detail because I think the question most addicts have a hard time answering that a nonaddict wants an answer to is, ‘Why?’ ” Hunter said. “There’s a simple answer and that’s because it works at first until it doesn’t. For me, it was important to be completely honest about the entire experience.”
In the book, Hunter said the high he got from the first time he used crack is the feeling he chased for the remainder of the time he used it.
“Crack brought me to a place I had never been to before,” Hunter said. “Both in terms of the high, to be completely honest, but absolutely as it relates to the low. It was an absolutely awful experience at the end … you just live with a lot of guilt and a lot of shame.”
In July 2023, it was reported that crack was found in a public area of the White House.
