The Eat My Biscuits brunch bar in East Point, Georgia, is a veritable feast for the eyes, the soul, and, of course, the stomach.
Before you even take a bite of the exquisite cuisine and imbibe on the luscious libations, Eat My Biscuit is the ideal place to rev up your day — and, at the same time, put your mind at rest. Patrons drink in the colorful decor punctuated by the soft velvet-toned and pink furnishing, maple wood tables, and blush pink chairs. When you combine that with the old-school soul music echoing in the background, the effect is like a warm embrace as you enter the eatery at 2881 Main St. on the southern tip of Atlanta.
Owner Vanetta Roy is a nontraditional culinary connoisseur from one of the epicenters of American dining, Chicago. She is also a veteran restaurateur and special education teacher of more than 20 years. She was able to manifest her dreams of moving to Atlanta and opening up a restaurant that gave off risqué, but not “ratchet,” vibes that are inviting, comfortable, and chic.
Some of the dynamic menu items that Roy imported to metro Atlanta from her Chicago hometown include the delectable fried biscuits that are light and fluffy and come with various toppings such as strawberry shortcake, blueberry lemon ricotta, and peach dream.
“Eat My Biscuits is a journey of empowerment and celebration of exquisite breakfast and brunch offerings,” Roy exclaims. “We believe in the transformative power of food and the joy it brings to our lives.”
This writer was gifted Cajun grilled shrimp served in Roy’s signature cheddar butter biscuit and smothered with creamy seafood sauce bursting with crab, shrimp, lobster, peppers, and onions. The dish, which resembled a sculpture, attracted the attention of other patrons, who interrupted my meal to find out what it was. It was also as aesthetically pleasing as it tasted as flavors danced on the tongue.
The Hennessy Wings are nothing to sleep on either, as they come deep-fried crispy and are bathed in the Hennessy sauce.
Afterward, you can wash the meals down with a Mimosa or Martini or the traditional Long Island Iced Tea offered by the full bar.
It is impossible to leave Eat My Biscuits without taking a piece of the atmosphere with you. Which is exactly what Roy aspired to do. “So you might hear Frankie Beverly and Maze, the OJays, Curtis Mayfield, Bobby Womack, and you won’t get that anywhere else,” she said.
And this is why Eat My Biscuits is endorsed by the city of East Point.
“We are excited to add another great dining experience in the City of East Point,” said Chantel Francois, the East Point Tourism and Vistors Bureau. “Great food in a unique setting is always an added value for attracting new patrons to the city. This spot definitely creates a memorable experience for all, dishing up specialty menu items to our local residents and visitors alike.”
