Snoop Dogg is a man of many trades, but one of his most rewarding endeavors is his Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL).

Since 2005, the non-profit organization has provided the opportunity for inner-city children between the ages of five and thirteen, teaching them the values of teamwork, good sportsmanship, discipline, and self-respect while stressing the importance of academics, per the league’s website.

While appearing as a guest on Nick Cannon’s show “Big Drive,” the Doggfather took the opportunity to highlight some of the youth league’s success stories over its almost 20-year history.

“We got 12 kids in the NFL, we have 100 in division 1, we expecting to put out three or four this year to the NFL,” Snoop touted. “We have over 100 in high school about to graduate in the next two years. We’re doing our part.”

The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper also noted that while it is a youth football league, a number of non-sports-related accomplishments can be traced back to the organization.

“We have a Rhodes scholar, some lawyers, some doctors, police officers,” Snoop proudly exclaimed. “A lot of different kinds of kids that come out of my league and with us being able to get into their lives from a different perspective.”

Of course, one of the most significant recent success stories of the SYFL is that of Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud.. Taking the NFL by storm last year, the 22-year-old standout won Offensive Rookie of the Year and was selected to the Pro Bowl in his first season as a professional.

According to Stroud, his time spent in the SYFL helped open his eyes to more than football.

“He used to invite us to his house and things like that,” Stroud recalled. “That goes a long way. It just seemed like it is more than where you come from. There’s a lot more to life, and he showed us that… So definitely really appreciative and grateful for Coach Snoop and everything that he’s done.”

In nearly twenty years, the Snoop Youth Football League has had more than 60,000 kids participate in the program.
