BigXthaPlug and Ro$ama go ‘BEAST MODE’ to celebrate anniversary of Monsterverse

The dynamic duo linked up to create this raw track

With BigXthaPlug and Ro$ama already having great chemistry when they hop in the booth, it was only fitting they were picked to create the song “Beast Mode” to celebrate the release of the film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and its return to the Monsterverse on its 10th anniversary. BigXthaPlug and Ro$ama combine their styles in the song to portray the energy of the two Monsterverse characters.

Both artists spoke with rolling out about the collaboration.

When did you all find out you would have this opportunity to make this song?

BigXthaPlug: They hit me a while ago and asked me about it, and I told them yeah. I was supposed to be on it with another artist. I don’t know what happened with that, but either way, they were looking for somebody else, and they ended up pitching Ro$ama. They knew me and him already had a lot of chemistry together anyway because we’d already done songs together. It was kind of like a given; they knew that this was the best option. We hopped on the track, and we did what we had to do.

What were your thoughts when you first heard about the collaboration?

Ro$ama: I was lit. I was like, “Yeah, this is my first movie. I’m going to go crazy.”

Who’s Godzilla and Kong between you two?

B: When we were making the song, we were kind of portraying both of them with both of our verses. We were using the energy of both. But in real life, I’m definitely King Kong.

R: I’ll take Godzilla; he’s whooped King Kong a couple of times.

B: We’ve talked about this. They had to put me in a whole different universe to keep me from taxing that a–. They had to put me in the Bermuda Triangle to keep me from you.

People are calling you a dynamic duo. What is it about when you two get together that makes the music special?

B: We’ve been doing this for so long that it just came about. We know we can bring the best out of each other. Maybe it’s because we know where we come from. We know what it just was and what it is now. It just makes it better when we work together.

What inspired you to start rapping?

R: I’ve been having music in my ears since I was a baby… I’ve been around music my whole life. It is one of my talents that God gave me, and I’ve been doing it since I was little.
