Some fans may remember 1991’s Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead as a cult classic starring Christina Applegate, but the beloved film is getting the remix treatment.

The upcoming modern-day version will feature an ensemble cast led by Ms. Pat, Jermaine Fowler, Simone Joy Jones, and Nicole Richie in the hilarious tale of parentless mischief and rebellion unfolds. Jones will take over Applegate’s role as 17-year-old Tanya Crandell, who plans to visit Spain for the summer but has her plans derailed when her mother (Ms. Pat) goes on a wellness retreat and forces Tanya to stay with her three troublemaking siblings.

Tyra Banks, who was originally slated to play the character Rose, is one of the producers on the film directed by Wade Allain-Marcus and also starring Donielle Tremaine Hensley, Gus Kenworthy, Iantha Richardson, Miles Fowler, Tyriq Withers, and June Squibb as the Elderly Babysitter.

Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead is scheduled to be released on April 12.
