Annual Run the World Brunch celebrates and empowers Black women

The annual Run the World Brunch NYC, now in its third year, continues as a beacon of empowerment and community for Black women. This event, centered around the theme “Culture, Media, Influence On Our Wellness,” provided a platform for meaningful discussions and networking among women making significant impacts in various fields.

Empowerment through engagement

The brunch, sponsored by notable brands like Pattern Beauty, Boxed Water, and Aveda, featured panels that explored the effects of media and influence on mental health and wellness. Notable speakers included Mona Kosar Abdi, Chizi Duru, and Lellies Santiago, who shared insights on navigating the complexities of the digital world to maintain a healthy relationship with media and technology.


Supporting women entrepreneurs

Women in Power Wellness, founded by Kadeisha Placide, emphasizes the importance of work-life balance and self-care. The event also highlighted small woman-owned businesses, showcasing a range of products from stylish apparel by Nominated Boutique to unique fragrances by Deandra Craigman Studios.

Building a supportive community

The discussions also covered self-care for entrepreneurs and the importance of building supportive communities. Speakers like DarDra Coaxum and Charisse Higgins shared valuable tips on balancing personal life with professional demands, emphasizing the importance of community support for personal and professional growth.


The Run the World Brunch not only celebrated the achievements and resilience of Black women but also provided them with tools and knowledge to thrive in all aspects of life, fostering an environment of confidence and elegance.
